Our Key Initiatives

Explore our key initiatives, including rhino breeding, vulture rehabilitation, habitat restoration, and educational programs, all aimed at protecting and preserving Botswana's wildlife.

Vulture Conservation

In partnership with Vulpro and DWNP, we provide care for injured vultures and facilitate their recovery and release.

Rhino Breeding & Anti-Poaching Efforts

We are proud to host a successful rhino breeding program aimed at increasing the population of these majestic creatures. Our dedicated team of rangers safeguard our wildlife from illegal hunting and trade.

Habitat Restoration

Our comprehensive habitat restoration includes brush packing, bush clearing, control of invasive species, and soil erosion control to restore and maintain healthy ecosystems.

Protecting Big Cats and Wild Dogs

At Mokolodi Nature Reserve, we are dedicated to the conservation of lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs. These animals are kept in secure habitats for public educational purposes, allowing visitors to learn about their behaviors, conservation status, and the critical role they play in our ecosystem.

Reptile Awareness

At Mokolodi Nature Reserve, we educate the public about the importance of reptiles in our ecosystem. Through interactive programs and events, we aim to foster appreciation and understanding of these vital creatures.

Snake day at Mokolodi Nature Reserve

Snake Day at Mokolodi Nature Reserve is an annual event dedicated to celebrating and educating the public about snakes. This year’s event featured captivating snake demonstrations by Mokolodi’s wildlife expert Wildread Ikgopoleng and an insightful conservation talk by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP).

These activities provided visitors with a deeper understanding of snakes, their behaviors, and their crucial role in the ecosystem. Snake Day is a fun and educational experience, fostering appreciation and awareness of these remarkable reptiles.

Snake Day also raises awareness about the conservation challenges faced by snakes and highlights their vital role in our ecosystem.

Join us next year to learn more about snakes and support our conservation efforts at Mokolodi Nature Reserve.
